A New Journey
A New Journey is the first Intensive Outpatient Program and Partial Day Treatment Program in Santa Monica with a unique constellation of treatment programs for adults and adolescents suffering from anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder. Our services are designed for both female and male clients.
Our programs are created and conducted by a nationally recognized multidisciplinary team of professionals with years of experience in the field of eating disorders, mental health, addictions, and compulsive disorders.
A New Journey offers an innovative treatment option for individuals who do not require residential care and for those who need continuing care following completion of inpatient treatment.
On behalf of the Treatment Team at A New Journey, we thank you for visiting our website and are excited to announce the expansion of our facilities and the growth of our services offered to support the increasing needs for holistic treatment for eating disorder recovery. Our intention is to support women and men, and adolescents struggling with eating disorders to rediscover their innate ability to nourish their bodies and souls.
Some of the many ways we do this is by individualizing treatment plans to address relationship disruptions, trauma history, family system issues, body image issues, grief and loss issues, and underlying negative esteem issues that cause eating disorder behaviors, exercise addiction, self harm, substance use/abuse, and other compulsive behaviors. Underlying issues are gently and firmly processed while each individual receives psychoeducation and therapeutic processes about proper nutrition, meal planning, and practices mindful eating. We are doing more than treating individuals at A New Journey, we are building community and family that facilitate the individual’s re-integration of body-mind-spirit.
Our services include:
Group therapy activities, including psychodrama, weekly intention circle and goal setting, eclectic modalities to address shifting negative Body Image paradigms, mindful meditation and centering techniques before meals, innovative CBT and DBT groups, exposure to guest speakers and special on-site workshops, Family support activities, weekly cooking classes, restaurant outings, meal planning, nutrition lectures, and supervised grocery shopping with our registered dieticians.
